Oct 1987 · DC · 1.50 USD; 2.00 CAD
“Busted!”

In "Busted!", Adrian sits behind bars, cut off from Valentina’s now-disconnected lifeline as she scrambles to dismantle her secret government operation in Washington. With a vengeful group of officers plotting to finish him off and Black Thorn slipping in to rescue her newly arrested boyfriend, chaos brews in the jailhouse. Meanwhile, Harry and Harvey keep a low profile as they track a Russian spy through Gotham’s shadows. Written by Paul Kupperberg and brought to life by Tod Smith’s dynamic art—pencils and inks by Smith, with colors by Bob LeRose and letters by John Costanza—this 1987 issue delivers high-stakes tension and tangled loyalties in a single, pulse-pounding issue.

Adrian is in jail and finds that the number Valentina gave him to get him out of jams has been disconnected. That is because she is in Washington shutting down her offices and sending agents to make sure Adrian doesn't blab about her secret government program. A group of police officers, angry at Vigilante for being a cop killer, decide to sneak into the jail and finish Adrian off. Black Thorn, sorry for accidentally getting her new boyfriend busted, disguises herself and heads in to free her man. All parties converge and mayhem ensues. Meanwhile, Harry and Harvey tail a Russian spy in Gotham.
