The White Guard #[nn]
"Kolynos Presents the White Guard" delivers a whimsical, tooth-themed allegory from Wm. C. Popper & Co., where the wise Greek Kolynos teaches two princes—Careful and Careless—the importance of maintaining strong defenses. When an enemy attack tests their resolve, only Careful’s disciplined care keeps his castle intact, while Careless’ neglect leads to collapse. With Kolynos’ help, Careful rescues his brother, who learns the value of vigilance and becomes Prince Heedful. The story ends with a practical lesson, as the doctor applies a filling to Willie’s tooth, reinforcing the tale’s message about dental care.
