Issue #18 of Warren Ellis and Jon Davis-Hunt's The Wild Storm arrives at a striking moment in this 24-part series, and the cover by Jon Davis-Hunt announces it with visceral intensity. A massive, anguished face — identified by the overlaid text as Lynch — is enveloped by thick, coiling red tendrils that wrap across every feature, pinning wide, strained eyes and a grimacing mouth in a monochromatic grey field broken only by that deep, arterial crimson.
