Those Annoying Post Bros. #9

Jul 1988 · Vortex · 1.75 USD; 2.25 CAD
“Oust”

In "Oust," the perpetually exasperated Ron and Russ face their most unsettling intrusion yet: actual neighbors, a breach of their sacred lease with Big Al, the sentient mountain. With their usual blend of absurdity and desperation, the Rrothers deploy a homemade mix tape—featuring Ron’s off-key keyboard solos—and a surprise swarm of pet wasps in a last-ditch effort to reclaim their solitude. Written and illustrated entirely by Matt Howarth, this 1988 Vortex issue delivers the series’ signature chaotic energy, with cover art by Howarth capturing the brothers’ escalating panic in bold, expressive lines.

Ron and Russ are disturbed to find that they now have neighbors! A clear violation of their lease with Big Al, the sentient mountain. The unruly frat boys were given the house by Al to punish them for welching on their rent. The Rrothers manage to destroy an indestructable house with a wicked mix tape (featuring Ron's "souped-up Casio mini keyboard) and Ron's mighty swarm of pet wasps.
