The gang heads to a picnic where Tommy Trippit becomes the prize in a rivalry between Tippy and Peggy Fleagle—first in a sack race, then in an all-out pie-eating contest where neither girl is willing to lose. As the competition heats up and the stakes keep rising, things get messier and more ridiculous by the slice.

Tommy Trippit breaks a shop window and becomes infamous as "the boy who broke Schultz' window"—so he decides the only way to shake the reputation is to perform a string of heroic good deeds, saving lives left and right and earning himself genuine fame and media attention. But no matter how many headlines he grabs or how many people he rescues, the town just can't seem to let go of that one accident, and Tommy learns a hard lesson about how stubborn public memory can be.

Tommy Trippit is thrilled about his new car, Annabelle—a genuine Stutz-Dingbat he traded his old jalopy and chemistry set for—but his girlfriend Tippy is convinced the vehicle has it out for her after a series of unfortunate mishaps at Lover's Lane. When Tommy tries to smooth things over by having Egghead deliver a heartfelt apology on the car's behalf, the plan backfires in the most unexpected way.

Tommy Trippit crashes the summer formal in disguise after Principal Phogg bans him for a prank, only to accidentally expose the principal's carefully guarded secret during a chaotic confrontation on the dance floor. When the tables turn and both of them find themselves in need of each other's silence, the night takes an unexpectedly hilarious turn that leaves everyone's reputations hanging in the balance.

Egghead's homemade Geiger counter promises to locate uranium and make him and Tippy rich—if they can convince Mr. Teen to bankroll their scheme. When the device starts clicking in the basement, their fortune seems assured, until they discover the "radioactive" source is something far more ordinary than expected. What began as a get-rich-quick dream turns into an accidental discovery that might actually pay off after all.
