Mary and Charles fall in love and are happily married but he’s drafted. After Charles is reported missing in action, Dick finds a stack of Mary’s love letters on a park bench and returns them to her. He discovers Charles was a figment of Mary’s imagination. However, Dick has fallen in love with Mary thanks to the emotion in her letters.
