# Tom Corbett, Space Cadet #1 This issue contains at least two stories. "Time Scope" follows space cadets studying historical events using a time-viewing machine at Space Academy, which shows them a 1627 incident involving Robert Boyle's father and a vacuum pump discovery. A subsequent story involves space cadets on a mission where Captain Bull Herrick prepares to blast off, but an astronaut named Tom goes missing after hitching a ride on a spacetug called Hercules, leading the captain to suspect sabotage and order his crew to search for Tom before launching.
