# Tom Mix Western #25 Synopsis The issue contains two stories. "The Signed Death Warrant" features frontier editor Fightin' Forbes investigating a betting scam in which a false telegraph message claiming "Gray Streak wins" was sent to fix a horse race. Forbes discovers that telegrapher Wires, pressured by gambling house owner Misty Glazzer, sent the fake result, then shoots Misty in self-defense when confronted. Forbes is ultimately cleared when the truth emerges. "Tom Mix and the Signed Death Warrant" depicts Tom Mix arriving in Point Lookout City where he encounters Sheriff Cody and learns about the outlaw Fatty Lee, a wanted criminal hiding in the area who frequents the local saloon.
