Toyfare: The Toy Magazine #121

Sep 2007 · Wizard Entertainment · 4.99 USD; 5.99 CAD

In this festive 2007 issue of Toyfare: The Toy Magazine, Chewbacca returns home late for Life Day, only to realize he forgot to get Malla a gift—leading to a heartfelt, chaotic shopping spree that involves a droid swap, a rejected plea to Bea Arthur, and a surprisingly emotional transaction involving Han Solo’s location and a bandolier’s polish. With help from Lumpy, Itchy, and a surprise return from Saunn Dann, the holiday takes an unexpected turn as the group gathers to sing, but not before a moment that leaves everyone stunned. The issue, written by Zach Oat, Justin Aclin, Jon Gutierrez, Sean T. Collins, and Chris Ward, captures a uniquely offbeat Star Wars holiday tale with warmth and whimsy, all wrapped in a cover by the magazine’s team.

Chewbacca comes home late to Life Day due to Luke. He and Lumpy look up what Life Day is, and he realizes he didn't get Malla a gift. Itchy gives Lumpy a droid when he wanted a BB gun, so Chewbacca gives him his bowcaster. They go shopping, but Chewbacca doesn't have enough money for the combs, so he asks Bea Arthur. She kicks him out. He sells his bandolier to pay for them, and Malla sells Han Solo's location to buy him bandolier polish. Saunn Dann gives him back his bandolier, and they all sing. Lumpy kills Leia.
