Toyfare: The Toy Magazine #128

Apr 2008 · Wizard Entertainment · 4.99 USD; 5.99 CAD

In this delightfully absurd twist on the superhero genre, the Avengers find themselves caught in a surreal game-world where the rules are written in board games. When Jarvis is found dead and Colonel Mustard is implicated, the team must navigate a bizarre journey through iconic game spaces—from battleships to Hi-Ho Cherry-O—before confronting Pennybags in Monopoly and uncovering the true mastermind behind the chaos. A wild, playful ride with unexpected turns, this issue blends classic toy nostalgia with superhero stakes in a way only a 2008 comic could deliver.

Jarvis is found dead, and it was Colonel Mustard who did it. He needs the Avengers help overthrow the opponent. They travel through Eurasia, battleships, stop at Hi-Ho Cherry-O, and eat pie. They reach Monopoly, and face Pennybags. Hawkeye kills him. Then they face the true opponent: Top Hat. The shoe comes off Mustard's foot and stomps on the hat. The Avengers return to Megoville, where a new hotel has been built.
