True Believers: King in Black - Valkyrie #1
"Come on in, the Revolution's Fine" kicks off a bold new chapter in the True Believers: King in Black saga, spotlighting Valkyrie as she rallies Wasp and the Scarlet Witch into a defiant new force—the Lady Liberators. With the male Avengers distracted at a Halloween parade, the Masters of Evil strike, only to be swiftly overpowered by the women who’ve long been underestimated. But when Valkyrie’s true identity as the Enchantress is revealed, the battle shifts into something far more personal, and the divide between hero and villain blurs. Written by Roy Thomas and brought to life with dynamic art by John Buscema and Tom Palmer, with vibrant colors by Tom Palmer and sharp lettering by Herb Cooper, the cover by John Buscema and Marie Severin captures the tension and flair of this electrifying moment.

Valkyrie shows up at Avengers HQ and convinces Wasp and the Scarlet Witch to join her team of Lady Liberators. With the male members of the Avengers attending Tom Fagan's Halloween parade, the Masters of Evil attack and pummel our heroes. The Lady Liberators show up to save the day and do what their male chauvinist pig counterparts failed to do as they make quick work of the villains. Valkyrie is revealed to be the Enchantress, however, and the lady heroes are forced to defeat their former leader. The gender war rages on.
