True Believers: Spider-Man Brand New Day #1
"Brand New Day" kicks off a pivotal chapter in Peter Parker’s life as he struggles to balance his dual identity and find stable work, only to be ambushed on New Year’s Eve by a masked thief in a Spider-Man suit. Written by Dan Slott and illustrated by Steve McNiven, with inks by Dexter Vines, colors by Morry Hollowell, and letters by VC's Cory Petit, this issue’s striking cover by McNiven and Vines captures the tension of a hero’s world unraveling—one moment of chaos away from a brand new beginning.

Aunt May pushes Peter to find a job, but due to his spotty work record in his previous employment, he finds this hard to do. Peter goes to a club on New Year's Eve with Harry and friends but he is mugged by a guy in a Spider-Man mask. Peter follows the thug right into the FEAST building where he finds Aunt May volunteering at Martin Li's homeless relief operations. Badly in need of some cash, Peter heads to the Daily Bugle not knowing that Jonah is in the midst of handling a buyout crisis. When J. Jonah Jameson refuses to pay Peter, Pete lays into him and watches as Jameson has a heart attack.
