An accident leaves the couple on a motorcycle unhurt, but another young woman unconscious. Jane calls for an ambulance from a nearby phone box, but her boyfriend convinces her they should leave before the ambulance arrives and that they shouldn't report it to the police. Jane knows it is wrong and continually tries to convince her boyfriend to report their involvement, but he keeps pleading with her to keep quiet. The woman remains in a coma and Jane feels compelled to help the woman's family when she discovers she was a widow with a six-year-old child.
