“What Price Jealousy?”

In "What Price Jealousy?", model Wini grapples with insecurity as her husband Robert, a younger photographer, pushes her to leave her career behind for motherhood. Jealous of Romona, a younger model who’s replacing her in Robert’s projects, Wini’s doubts spiral—until she overhears Robert defend her beauty and love, insisting her place is at home, not out of rejection, but devotion. A quiet moment of revelation unfolds, drawn with emotional precision by Edward Goldfarb and inked by Bob Baer, with Ken Bald’s cover capturing the tension in a single, striking image.

Model Wini is married to photographer Robert, 5 years her junior. They have a child and he wants her to retire to be a housewife and mother only, but she thinks it’s because she’s too old (she’s 31). Wini is jealous of Romona, a younger model who has taken her place in Robert’s work. Wini overhears Robert turning down a job for her, saying she’s still beautiful and he loves her, but “I believe as a mother, her place is at home!” She apologizes to him for her mistrust.
