Munsy Karl has Todd's father killed and frames Todd for stealing a horse. After getting out of prison Todd goes after Karl for revenge and discovers Karl has taken over his family's land, building oil wells. Todd proves Karl didn't acquire it legally from his father because his father's signature is on the deed, despite his father being illiterate. With his crimes exposed, Karl dies fighting Todd.
