Uncanny Tales #S [1]
In "A Look at a Backward Planet," a man on a sea cruise is stunned by the sight of the Empire State Building, the Sphinx, and a Buddha floating on the water—only to be told by his love interest that she’s an Atlantean gathering these relics as souvenirs for her people. When he later learns the ship’s captain claims a movie is being filmed on an island using balsa wood replicas of the same monuments, he doubts her story—until he realizes she’s vanished, and the film crew denies her existence entirely. Written by Paul S. Newman and illustrated by Bob Powell, with a striking cover by Bill Molno and Vince Alascia, this eerie tale from Uncanny Tales #S [1] blends surreal imagery with a haunting mystery.

When the captain later tells him that a movie is being filmed on an island shot with balsa wood replicas of these famous monuments, he thinks the girl was just pulling his leg, but he can't find her on board. After they dock, she doesn't get off, so he asks the film producer about her and is told they don't have such an actress and there will be no movie as all the props were stolen.
