Unfollow #5

Vertigo's unsettling social-media thriller continues with issue #5, and Matt Taylor's cover sets the tone perfectly: a figure wearing dark mourning attire and an intricate lace-like mask holds up a smartphone displaying a gun pointed directly at the viewer — an image that collapses the distance between screen violence and real threat in one quietly devastating composition. Williams, Dowling, and Winter bring their mature-readers sensibility to "Blocked," and if you haven't yet sampled this series, Big Comic Page put it well: "chilling, shocking and utterly compelling."
