“Unholy Union”

"Unholy Union" #1 (2007) brings together a chaotic collision of heroes and horrors in a single bar, where Jackie Estacado’s celebration turns explosive when Ghost Rider attacks and the Darkness awakens. Written by Ron Marz and illustrated by Michael Broussard, with inks by Rob Hunter, Rick Basaldua, and Joe Weems, the issue features a wild ensemble—Matt Murdock, Sara, Danielle, Bruce Banner (in full Hulk form), and even Dr. Strange—united by sudden chaos and the arrival of the new Witchblade. Marc Silvestri’s striking cover captures the mayhem, while the interior art delivers a dynamic, high-stakes showdown that sets the stage for something far bigger.

Jackie Estacado is having a drink with Butcher as they celebrate the fact that Matt Murdock has just successfully defended Jackie. Sara and Danielle show up and the new Witchblade is introduced to the Darkness. Ghost Rider crashes into the bar and starts fighting Jackie as he becomes the Darkness. Bruce Banner has been trying to have a quiet drink at the same bar and transforms into the Hulk. Sara scoots out of the way as she is pregnant, but Danielle activates the Witchblade and helps Jackie. Dr. Strange shows up to sort the mess out and warn the heroes that ominous events are in the works.
