A year after he obtained the Star Brand from a mysterious old guy, Ken meets Arden, a multi-dimensional observer from another earth who explains the nature of his powers, the reality of alternate dimensions and the unrealized potential he can achieve if he only puts his mind to it. In response to having his horizons broadened and his view of reality blown wide open, Ken sleeps with her. Arden is recalled to her reality for violating her people's non-interference rule.
