“How Near Is Love”

In "How Near Is Love," Patsy’s chance encounter with a carrier pigeon leads to an unexpected connection with a man devoted to his flock—until Paul returns from France with a mysterious young woman, Yvette, who seems to share a special bond with him. The quiet romance between Patsy and her 'birdman' takes a turn as she watches them together, her heart caught between loyalty and doubt. Illustrated with delicate detail by Julio Vivas, this poignant 1967 tale captures the quiet ache of love and uncertainty, all on a 7d cover.

Patsy discovers a carrier pigeon and uses the address attached to the bird's leg to return it to the owner. She discovers he has many birds and soon there is a romance with her 'birdman'. Paul goes on a trip to France and returns with the 'kid' of the family who put him up there. But Patsy sees that the 'kid' is actually a beautiful young woman who is obviously fond of Paul. When Patsy sees them together buying an expensive bracelet, she assumes he really loves Yvette.
