Valentine #15
In "Don't Forbid Me," young Becky’s life takes a quiet turn when she’s sent to live with her aunt, Cora, a dressmaker whose shop becomes her sanctuary. Six years later, returning to her childhood home, she reunites with Miles Danby—now a wounded man still nursing a broken heart—after he falls from his horse and she helps him. As their connection deepens, a fragile bond forms between them, one that quietly challenges the past. The story unfolds with gentle sincerity, drawn with care by Josep Maria Miralles, whose expressive art brings warmth to this tender moment in time.

When nine year-old Becky is caught stealing apples from nasty young Squire Danby's orchard, her poor parents send her to live with Aunt Cora. Initially refusing, Becky comes to love Cora's exclusive dress shop and becomes a model for her. Six years later, she goes home and visits her old haunts. Miles Danby falls from his horse when he sees her climbing his wall. While he refuses to accept a woman's help following a broken romance, Becky looks after him. She falls in love as he recovers and learns to laugh again. When it is time to go, Miles asks her to never leave.
