Humphrey comes to Oscar's dancing academy to learn to dance so he can have a chance of winning Marie's affections. Milly is his instructor and she thinks he is hopeless. But she doesn't want to hurt his feelings since Milly knows what it is like to have feelings for someone who doesn't know you exist. After Marie's engagement to another man is announced in the newspaper, Humphrey comes for another lesson. But when Oscar pairs Humphrey with a gorgeous blonde, Milly discovers it isn't Oscar who has upset her, but Humphrey.
