Valentine #28 March 1970
"Spring Comes to Suzy Brown" is a quiet, tender story from Valentine #28 (March 1970), a 8d comic that captures a fleeting moment of connection between two lonely people. Each Friday, Morgan buys flowers from Tricia, and when he chooses Carnations over her favorite Irises, she wonders if he’s about to propose—only to learn, through a shared coffee and a dance, that his heart is still bruised. The story lingers in the space between hope and hesitation, ending with a simple, hopeful return: next Friday, he comes in to buy Irises.
