Jan loves Bill who works for her father. When Standalls, the biggest firm in their business, wants to market their new engine design, Bill and Jan's father disagree about accepting the offer. Bill takes a designing job with Standalls and Jan breaks off with Bill for betraying her dad. Standalls wants the design so bad they break Mr. Sherman's business and he decides to close the factory and sell the business. When Bill hears what they've done to Jan's father, he quits his job and comes back to help Jan's father start a new business.
