In "null," Louis Crandell, a lab assistant to Professor Barringer, becomes invisible after a lab accident involving electricity—leaving only his steel prosthetic hand visible. Stricken with a personality shift and a growing sense of grandeur, he turns to crime in England, using his invisibility to steal and evade capture. His criminal path leads him across the Atlantic to New York, where he threatens the city with a bomb. As the military closes in, he finds himself entangled with a gangster, beginning to question his actions and the path he’s taken.
