Vampirella / Red Sonja #3

The third chapter of this Dynamite team-up finds both warrior women triumphant — Red Sonja stands battle-ready in her chainmail bikini, axe in hand, planting her boot atop the body of a massive slain reptilian creature, while Vampirella perches coolly on a rocky ledge above her, looking every bit as dangerous at rest. A skull in the foreground and shattered wooden wreckage in the background quietly underscore that these two have already had quite the outing before the cover even hints at what's inside. Frank Cho's linework brings a polished, dynamic energy to this 2019 collaboration, making issue #3 a satisfying visual showcase for one of comics' more unlikely but compelling pairings.
