An anthology featuring three adventures: Vic Verity, a high school baseball ace, plays in a championship game where he makes a crucial hit; Boomer Young, a frontier adventurer, smashes a gang of Mississippi River pirates by dousing their fort with cold water and using a cannon to destroy their vessel; and Tom Travis escapes from crafty Red Ivak's most cunning trap after a dangerous confrontation involving Greg's weapon, which terrifies Red Ivak and his men into the forest where they plot their next move, though they ultimately suffer losses and fail to capture Tom.
