Walt Disney Huey, Dewey and Louie Junior Woodchucks #18
In "Junior Woodchucks Meet the Thing," Huey, Dewey, and Louie—along with Donald Duck as their guardian—trade merit badges for airplane tickets to camp in Lower Bahvia, drawn by its inviting climate and terrain. But their adventure takes a turn when they arrive to find the locals terrified of a monstrous, winged reptile known only as "The Thing," which has been preying on their sheep. Written by Vic Lockman and illustrated by Tony Strobl, with inks by Steve Steere and colors by the Western Publishing Production Shop, this 1973 classic features a cover by Tony Strobl and Steve Steere.

In lieu of more merit badges, which would put them over the Woodchuck legal weight-carrying limit, Huey, Dewey, and Louie (plus Donald as their guardian) are given airplane tickets to camp abroad in the country of their choice. They choose Lower Bahvia for its good climate and terrain. But once there, they find the population living in fear of "The Thing", a monstrous winged reptile-like creature that feeds on the sheep of the local shepherds.
