“The Secret of Drake's Island”

In "The Secret of Drake's Island," Mickey and Goofy face their most treacherous adventure yet when a mysterious old man forces them into a stormy sea chase to intercept a fleeing cargo ship. With the boat now under unknown control, they’re swept toward the Sargasso Sea, caught in a mystery far beyond their usual seaside outings. Written by Carl Fallberg and brought to life with dynamic art by Paul Murry—pencils, inks, and lettering all by Murry—this 1960 tale from W. G. Publications is a classic slice of Disney comic action, with Murry’s expressive storytelling and the Western Publishing Production Shop’s vibrant colors anchoring the tale.

Mickey and Goofy live by renting out a small boat for pleasure boaters. As they were about to close up shop, a strange old man threatens them with his gun, forcing them to brave the storm to catch a cargo ship he missed. Quickly, the three sailors find themselves in the hands of two sinister individuals. The boat then heads towards the Sargasso Sea.
