Rumors reach US forces of the Black Plague in North Korea. Brant goes on a mission behind enemy lines to capture someone infected with the plague so they can confirm it. Examining an infected man, he quickly identifies it as smallpox. After delivering this news, Brant and his ally Captain Hwang are awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
