This anthology issue contains at least three stories: a Western tale involving a cowboy and his horse attempting to stop rustlers from stealing a horse and giving it the "bird call"; "Back from the Dead," in which a man buried in Scotland for over 200 years is mysteriously revived and suspected of being a vampire, leading to an investigation involving a minister and other townspeople; and "Private Napper," a comedic military story about a soldier trying to hide in tree trunks to avoid his duties, pursued by officers attempting to capture him.
