"Hold That Beachhead" follows Engineers Bill Brady and Dave Hilton, who have a contentious relationship but are forced to work together during a military operation at Aifu Beach. When the Red Army announces a reward for marine kills and captures, the two men compete fiercely, with Brady repeatedly outperforming Hilton in combat. As the battle intensifies, Brady targets enemy gun emplacements and successfully destroys a Japanese fortification, while Hilton struggles to keep up and ultimately benefits from Brady's tactical superiority, leading to a resolution of their rivalry through shared military duty.
