“Pirate”

In "Pirate," the third issue of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s hauntingly beautiful WE3, the trio’s desperate flight takes a devastating turn when they’re discovered by a homeless man—leading the military to deploy WE4, a terrifyingly enhanced pitbull. As 1 (dog) and 2 (cat) fight to survive, the bond between them deepens amid escalating violence, culminating in a final, heart-wrenching confrontation. With Frank Quitely’s striking artwork and Jamie Grant’s layered inks and colors, this issue delivers a poignant, visceral story of innocence, loss, and fragile hope—cover by Frank Quitely.
