Tex Ritter investigates the mystery of a lost homestead after hearing gunshots at Ghost Town. He encounters a woman named Maizie who tells him her story: her wicked guardian George Grasper had held her ranch under his control, but she has escaped. When Tex catches up with the villain and his henchman Dotty Ratt in the hills, they attempt to flee but are apprehended. Tex then visits the Land Claims Office to investigate the location of Jeb Watkins' disappeared homestead, discovering that the property has vanished along with all records of its existence.
