This issue contains two stories. "Song of Death" follows a character who discovers that a ram's head on a mountain rock holds the key to solving a mystery involving a minstrel's secret; the protagonist pursues the answer to the hills while pursuing a bandit who killed his partner. A backup story, "Stamped!," depicts R.C. and Quickie Halt on a ranch tour when lightning strikes, causing cattle to stampede; the pair uses their quick thinking to redirect the stampede and save the ranch by tying Royal Crown Cola bottles to a tree as a lasso and climbing it to safety.
