This anthology issue contains two stories. "The Prisoners and the Penguins" follows a Western prison warden who must contend with rumors circulating among inmates that they are being fed penguin meat, leading to unrest within the facility. "Tom Mix and the Swindler's Revenge" depicts Tom Mix celebrating his discovery of gold in an old mine, only to be confronted by a swindler seeking vengeance; the story culminates in a gunfight at a general store where Mix must defend himself against the vengeful criminal and his associates.
