Westerner #17

The main story, "The Saga of Ben Thompson," depicts the outlaw Ben Thompson declining an invitation to a fancy banquet, declaring himself the honored guest instead. After a bushwhacker steals insurance papers from Jase Fowler and his girlfriend Jane Clark, leading them into Snake City, Ben Thompson and his crew launch a series of killings and robberies across the territory. A gunslinger named Barker eventually infiltrates the gang, and after a confrontation with Thompson and his men, Barker kills Thompson in a final showdown. Barker later finds peace working as a hired hand on a ranch, where he encounters Jane Clark again and discovers a sense of home and redemption he had never known before.
