Where Monsters Dwell #9
In "I Learned the Monstrous Secret of Bombu!", Stan Lee and Steve Ditko deliver a mind-bending tale of time, isolation, and discovery as a scientist's assistant ventures through a mysterious time machine only to find himself stranded in a world so ancient it feels like the dawn of time—or the end of it. The story's haunting mystery, rendered in Ditko’s signature surreal style with inks by Ditko and lettering by Artie Simek, leaves the question unanswered: is this the beginning… or the final echo? The cover by Jack Kirby and Marie Severin captures the eerie, otherworldly tone with striking, dynamic art.

A scientist's assistant is determined to find whether his time machine sends objects into the past or future. When his journey ends, Earth is so primitive that he is cut off from all humanity, and he realizes that he still doesn't know whether the machine sends things into the past or future since it could be either the dawn or the end of time.
