Sara and Jake are suspended from the police department. Jake returns to visit his family and rekindle an old flame. Sara is approached by the Justice Department and is given a new job where she can use the Witchblade freely. The Yakuza attempts to cement their control over New York by having Tora No Shi decimate Sara's old precinct building which kills many of her fellow police officers.
