“Surprise!!”

In "Surprise!!," Kitty tries to win Wolverine’s favor with a surprise birthday party—and a carefully orchestrated date between him and his girlfriend Mariko at a ninja restaurant—only for Sabretooth to crash the evening with his usual flair. Written by Fred Van Lente and illustrated by Andrea Di Vito, with colors by Laura Villari and letters by Simon Bowland, this 2009 issue delivers a fast-paced, character-driven clash that puts Kitty in the spotlight. The cover by David Williams captures the chaotic energy of the moment.
