The issue was published August 24, 2016, written by Greg Rucka with art by Liam Sharp and colors by Laura Martin, as the third chapter of 'The Lies' arc within DC's companywide Rebirth relaunch. Rucka's return to Wonder Woman came roughly ten years after his last issue on the title (Volume 2, #226), and was conceived from the start as a dual-narrative structure with editors Mark Doyle and Chris Conroy — odd-numbered issues in the modern day drawn by Sharp, even-numbered origin issues drawn by Nicola Scott. Rucka, Sharp, and the editorial team explicitly framed the run as a corrective to New 52 continuity, with 'The Lies' using Wonder Woman's broken memories as a meta-narrative device to re-establish pre-New 52 character relationships and mythological groundwork. The Frank Cho variant cover was one of several high-profile alternate covers produced for the series during its early months.
