World's Finest Comics #267
In "When Strike the Gravity-Masters!", Superman and Batman join forces with the mysterious Challengers Ace and Prof. at the Pentagon, where a failed mission has led to Dr. Brock's creation of a gravity bomb capable of unraveling North America's pull. With gravity itself turned against them, the team must infiltrate a high-security base to stop the device before it's too late. Written by Cary Burkett and illustrated by Rich Buckler, with inks by Dick Giordano and colors by Gene D'Angelo, the cover by Buckler and Giordano captures the tension of a world teetering on the edge.

At the Pentagon, Superman and Batman meet generals and Challengers Ace and Prof. The Challengers' secret mission to find Dr. Brock failed and he was forced to create a "gravity bomb" that could disrupt gravity all over North America. Red and Rocky were captured. Despite repellent gravity waves, Batman, Prof., Superman, and Ace gain entry to the base holding Dr. Brock. Superman frees Rocky, who rips out the power to the bomb and sets everyone else free. Back at the Pentagon, Superman and Batman learn the Challengers are already off on another secret mission "challenging the unknown."
