“Dangerous Secret”

In "Dangerous Secret," the Nasty Boys' tea date with the Bushwhackers takes a surprising turn when young Stephen, torn between his grandmother's strict manners and his admiration for his wrestling heroes, finds himself caught in the middle of a brawl. Written by Bill Taylor and brought to life with Steve Ditko’s distinctive art, this 1991 issue captures a moment of unexpected connection, where a simple afternoon reveals more than just rivalry. The cover by David Lapham sets the scene with a sharp, playful energy that matches the story’s mix of humor and heart.

The Nasty Boys are invited for tea with the Bushwhackers. At the restaurant, a boy named Stephen is unimpressed with his grandmother's demands for etiquette, preferring to be like his "Nasty" heroes. As the tea time between the Bushwhackers and the Nasty Boys devolves into a brawl, Stephen gets on the wrong side of the Nasty Boys. When the Bushwhackers step in to help, Stephen's grandmother reveals she's an original Bushwhackers fan, and Stephen learns that Butch and Luke, and his grandmother, are pretty cool after all.
