This issue contains two stories. "Trouble on the River" depicts Marshal Wyatt Earp confronting a group of troublemakers, with Earp confidently assuring that he can handle them. "Stampede in Dodge City" follows as Texas Trail riders with Hoban's herd declare war on Dodge City, leading to a stampede through town; Wyatt Earp pursues the herd with a young companion and later discovers a mining operation where seventy thousand dollars in wages await shipment to the smelter, which becomes a target for Logan Case. "Ribbon Clerk" shows Jared Goggins, a tenderfoot unfamiliar with guns, being bullied by gunslingers Bullhide Reese and Rollo Kling, until they call for Marshal Earp to restore order in the lawless town.
