“Fast Descent into Hell!”

In "Fast Descent into Hell!", Chris Claremont and Michael Golden deliver a wild, high-stakes clash in the Savage Land as Brainchild unleashes a terrifying mutation that turns Angel and Spider-Man into monstrous forms, pitting them against Ka-Zar and the Fall People. When Tanya is captured and devolved, Lykos steps in to save her—pulling the corruption from her and the heroes, but at a cost that transforms him into the monstrous Sauron. John Buscema’s dynamic cover captures the chaos, while the interior art by Golden brings every grotesque detail to life.

Brainchild devolves Angel and Spider-Man into hideous monsters and sends them out to battle Ka-Zar and the Fall People. Tanya is captured and, when Brainchild devolves her as well, Lykos gets involved and sucks the mutation out of his woman and our heroes returning them to normal but, unfortunately, causing him to transform into Sauron. Spider-Man and Angel leave the Savage Land with Sauron still at large.
