X-Men pocket 1 #[nn]
"Genfødslen" delivers a haunting, character-driven chapter in the X-Men saga, with Chris Claremont and Morten Søndergård weaving a tense, atmospheric tale that begins with the X-Men’s crash landing in Jamaica Bay and Jean’s unsettling emergence as the Phoenix. Set against the moody backdrop of a Scottish castle inherited by Banshee, the story unfolds as the team seeks refuge, only to find the estate already occupied by Sean’s cousin Tom and his friend Juggy. Dave Cockrum’s iconic art, rendered with care by Tom Morgan and inks by Frank Chiaramonte and Sam Grainger, brings a timeless quality to the tale, while Cockrum’s cover pencils and inks capture the moment’s eerie gravity.

The X-Men's shuttle crash lands in Jamaica Bay and Jean rises from the wreckage as the Phoenix. To facilitate Jean's recovery, Prof X sends all of the X-Men but Cyclops to Scotland on vacation where Banshee has just inherited his family's ancestral castle. The X-Men show up at the castle and find it already inhabited by Sean's cousin Tom and his pal Juggy. Of course, as all now know, Jean and Phoenix are two separate entities (the latter taking the former for a template), and not the same being as the story insinuates.
