Janet is advised by her boss Crowley to turn away composer Richard from their music publishing company, as his work is “too long-haired.” After finding some sheet music Richard had discarded, Janet returns it to him and helps him sell a song. Janet and Richard fall in love, but she decides to go away. Confronted, Janet tells Richard she is deaf and can’t even hear his music. Richard says that doesn’t matter and they get married.
