Young Love #4 (58)
In "The Unblessed Events," a heartbroken former artist named Larry lies ill in a boardinghouse, nursed back to health by Doris, a quiet woman from the same building. When Doris helps him secure an art commission, their fragile bond deepens—leading to a rushed marriage when their landlady disapproves of their closeness. But when Larry refuses to work again, Doris leaves, pregnant, and the story follows his return, now rekindled with purpose. Drawn with quiet intensity by John Prentice, this poignant 1954 tale captures a moment of emotional reckoning, with cover art by Prentice himself.
