“For Handsome Men Only!”

In "For Handsome Men Only!", Bill and April’s love story takes a bittersweet turn when Bill leaves for Alaska to make their future together possible—only to write and break off their engagement 18 months later. April tries to move on, throwing herself into social life, but her heart stays with him. When an accident lands her in the hospital, she’s stunned to find Bill there—his legs crushed in a workplace disaster, his breakup a painful sacrifice to protect her. The story, illustrated by John Giunta with inks by Manny Stallman and Joe Simon, and lettered by Ben Oda, captures a tender, heartfelt reunion that tests the strength of love and resilience.

Bill and April are engaged, but he leaves to work in Alaska for two years, to save money so they can be married “years sooner!” 18 months later, he writes and breaks up with her. April resumes her social life and tries to be the “life of the party” but can’t forget Bill. Injured while on vacation, April is hospitalized and discovers Bill is there as well; his legs were crushed in an accident and he broke up with April to spare her. They are reunited and with April’s help, Bill is able to walk again.
