Young X-Men #3
In "LifeDeath," Young X-Men confront escalating tensions as Ink delivers Blindfold and Dani Moonstar to a mysterious figure with a Hellfire Club-inspired hairstyle. Meanwhile, Wolf Cub, Dust, and Rockslide face off against Magma, emerging victorious but at a heavy cost—Dust is turned to glass and Wolf Cub bears a severe burn, leaving him unsettled by his own actions. As Cyclops urges him to consider the greater survival of mutants, a separate thread unfolds with Carlos freeing Julio from jail, both bearing tattoos eerily similar to Ink’s—and Carlos showing clear powers to match. Written by Marc Guggenheim and illustrated by Yanick Paquette, with inks by Ray Snyder and Kris Justice, colors by Rob Schwager, and letters by Dave Sharpe, the issue’s cover by Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson captures the series’ brooding intensity.

Wolf Cub, Dust and Rockslide go up against Magma and win but at the cost of Dust being turned to glass and a bad burn on Wolf Cub's hand. Wolf Cub is disturbed by his willingness to kill, but Cyclops tells him to think about ensuring the survival of the mutant species. A man named Carlos breaks a man named Julio out of jail- both have tattoos siilar to Ink's, and Carlos at least has the powers to go with them.
